Residents and river users are advised to use extreme caution on the Muskegon River between Mile Marker 3 and Mile Marker 4 due to ongoing landslides along the riverbank.
These slides are currently impacting nearby homes and shoreline property. Unstable ground, falling debris, and sudden bank collapse may create dangerous conditions for boaters, anglers, kayakers, swimmers, and anyone traveling through this section of the river.

Please avoid traveling close to the shoreline in this area and remain alert for:
• Falling trees or debris
• Sudden bank collapse
• Mud and sediment entering the water
• Strong or unpredictable currents near slide areas

Property owners in the area are monitoring conditions closely and are reporting significant movements to local authorities. The Sheriff’s Office and Emergency Services will continue to monitor the area with safety officials.

Additional updates will be provided as conditions change.

Please share this notice with others who use the Muskegon River.

Look for the red flags 🚩 🚩

Stop. Think. Verify.

Scammers are pretending to be banks, courts, and law enforcement. They may claim your account is compromised, you owe unpaid fines, or you’ll be arrested if you don’t pay.

They can also spoof phone numbers to look legitimate.

Law enforcement and courts will not demand payment by phone, gift cards, cryptocurrency machines, wire transfers, or cash withdrawals.

When in doubt, HANG UP and verify directly.
