Today, on Memorial Day, we pause as a community and a nation to remember and honor the brave men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. Their courage, dedication, and selflessness will never be forgotten. We owe them a debt of gratitude that can never be repaid, because it is through their sacrifice that we continue to enjoy the freedoms we hold dear. With respect and solemn remembrance, we reflect on their service and the profound impact they have had on our lives.

To the families and friends of those who have lost their lives in our nation’s wars, we share in your grief and offer our deepest condolences. The pain of losing a loved one in service is a burden nobody should bear alone. Your loved ones’ sacrifice will always be remembered and honored by the people of White Cloud and across this great Nation. We stand with you in empathy and support during this time of reflection.

A special message to our Gold Star families: We see you, and we recognize the immense sacrifice you have made. Your strength and resilience in the face of such profound loss inspire us all. We are forever grateful for your loved ones’ service and sacrifice, and we will never forget the price you have paid for our freedom. You are an integral part of our community, and we honor you today and always.

Let us come together as a community to remember, honor, and never forget the brave souls who gave their lives for our country. May their legacy live on in our hearts and in the freedoms we cherish.

Today, as we honor the sacrifices made by those who served, I want to extend a sincere thank you to each and every one of you. Your courage, dedication, and commitment to protecting our freedoms are things I carry with immense pride and gratitude.

Let’s take a moment to recognize the veterans in our lives—our family members, friends, and neighbors. Ask them what they did in the military, or what their best memory is from their time in service. You may be surprised by their stories, and you might just hear something truly remarkable.

To my fellow veterans, I encourage you to reach out to an old friend or comrade you haven’t heard from in a while. We’ve all been through something unique together, and staying connected is one of the best ways to keep that camaraderie alive.

Again, thank you for your service and your sacrifices. Today, and every day, we honor you.

Well, it's that time again. AUGUST 6th is the date. There are some important issues and positions on the ballot. Yes, I have my opinions, but the most important thing is that you vote yours.

Remember, if you don't vote, you have no say in who represents you. You may want to look into their background if possible. Thank you in advance for performing one of our basic rights as a free society.

Again, AUGUST 6th is the date.

Dear Fellow Citizens of White Cloud,

As we recognize Veterans Day, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the brave men and women who have served and continue to serve our great nation. Today, we honor the sacrifices made by our veterans in defense of the principles and freedoms that make our country exceptional.

I am proud to address you not only as Mayor but also as a veteran myself. My time in the 1st Armored Division in Ansbach, Germany, holds a special place in my heart. The camaraderie, the sense of duty, and the memories forged during those years have left an indelible mark on my life. It is with deep respect and admiration that I reflect on the experiences shared with fellow Soldiers and the commitment to something greater than ourselves.

While Veterans Day is a moment to collectively express our gratitude, let us also recognize that our support for veterans should extend far beyond this single day. I encourage each and every one of you to join me in making a year-round commitment to support our veterans. Take a moment to thank a veteran for their service, inquire about their well-being, and lend a listening ear to the stories they carry. Our veterans have unique experiences that deserve to be heard, and by doing so, we strengthen the bonds that tie us together as a community.

Furthermore, consider the tremendous skills and dedication that veterans bring to the workforce. I urge our local businesses to recognize the value of hiring veterans, offering them opportunities to contribute their talents to our community in meaningful ways.

Together, let us build a community that not only acknowledges the sacrifices of our veterans but actively works to make their transition into civilian life smoother and more rewarding.

Thank you, White Cloud, for joining me in honoring our veterans. May our collective commitment to supporting those who have served be a source of pride and unity for our community.

Sincerely,

Mayor Brian Miller

Before and after photos below... Let the pies fly!

On a serious note, it's wonderful to see the community support for the annual pig roast fundraiser for our public library.

What a great way to kick off White Cloud's Sesquicentenial.

Residents of White Cloud,

I want to express my heartfelt thanks to all of you for the incredible resilience and determination you displayed during the recent power outages. Despite the challenges we faced, I was encouraged to see so many of you come together and work towards a common goal.

Your can-do attitude and willingness to pitch in and help your neighbors was truly inspiring. I am especially grateful for the efforts of those at the Newaygo County Center for Aging, White Cloud Public Works Department, White Cloud Police Department, White Cloud Area Fire Department, American Red Cross, and all city staff and volunteers who worked tirelessly to provide assistance to our community in a time of need.

Through your collective efforts, we were able to overcome this difficult situation and emerge even stronger as a community. Your dedication and commitment to one another is a shining example of what makes White Cloud such a special place to live.

Thank you once again for your unwavering support and dedication. I am honored to serve as your Mayor and look forward to working together to build an even stronger and more resilient White Cloud.
