Dear Fellow Citizens of White Cloud,
As we recognize Veterans Day, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the brave men and women who have served and continue to serve our great nation. Today, we honor the sacrifices made by our veterans in defense of the principles and freedoms that make our country exceptional.
I am proud to address you not only as Mayor but also as a veteran myself. My time in the 1st Armored Division in Ansbach, Germany, holds a special place in my heart. The camaraderie, the sense of duty, and the memories forged during those years have left an indelible mark on my life. It is with deep respect and admiration that I reflect on the experiences shared with fellow Soldiers and the commitment to something greater than ourselves.
While Veterans Day is a moment to collectively express our gratitude, let us also recognize that our support for veterans should extend far beyond this single day. I encourage each and every one of you to join me in making a year-round commitment to support our veterans. Take a moment to thank a veteran for their service, inquire about their well-being, and lend a listening ear to the stories they carry. Our veterans have unique experiences that deserve to be heard, and by doing so, we strengthen the bonds that tie us together as a community.
Furthermore, consider the tremendous skills and dedication that veterans bring to the workforce. I urge our local businesses to recognize the value of hiring veterans, offering them opportunities to contribute their talents to our community in meaningful ways.
Together, let us build a community that not only acknowledges the sacrifices of our veterans but actively works to make their transition into civilian life smoother and more rewarding.
Thank you, White Cloud, for joining me in honoring our veterans. May our collective commitment to supporting those who have served be a source of pride and unity for our community.
Sincerely,
Mayor Brian Miller
White Cloud, Michigan
