NC Firefighter Certification — Night Series

Are you ready to begin your journey in the fire service? Nashville Fire Department is excited to launch our 2026 NC Firefighter Certification Night Series, designed for those who work during the day but still want to pursue a career or volunteer role in the fire service.

This program will run from January through October 2026 and will include all required NC Firefighter certification courses. Classes will be taught by experienced instructors and focused on developing strong, capable firefighters.

Early this morning, Salem Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire at the intersection of East Hilliardston Road and Hwy 43.

We’d like to extend a big thank you to our mutual aid partners who responded and worked alongside us.

At 10:21 PM, the Salem Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to a motor vehicle collision involving a vehicle vs a tree on Ward Road in Whitakers, NC.

Tragically, one individual was pronounced deceased at the scene.

We extend our deepest condolences to the family and loved ones affected by this loss.

Special thanks to Red Oak Fire Department, Nash County EMS, the Nash County Sheriff's Office, and the North Carolina Highway Patrol for their assistance on scene. Your support and professionalism are truly appreciated.
