The Grady Grown Dinner Fundraiser is much more than just socializing and a fine meal (which will be awesome!) SoCo Smokehouse & Catering. The money raised thru dinner ticket sales and our silent auction, has paid for SO MANY Whigham community projects. Some you may notice and some not. For instance, one year we helped our beloved Whigham School with the purchase of picnic tables for their courtyard. We celebrate our teachers with picture flags on the light poles lining 84! If you see banners across their fence like the most recent one celebrating 150 years of Whigham School, yep, that was us The Whigham Volunteer Community Council!
We contributed greatly to the City of Whigham for new street lights one year. New street poles and signage another year. Replaced Christmas string lights on 84 (who knew that would cost a pretty penny! just ask Joshua Ausburn) All the pretty landscaping w perennials, rocks etc around our downtown area, we donated to stretch that budget. Thank you Chad Gainous for your love of design and beauty that make it possible!!
Anyone living close enough to hear the beautiful bells coming from the clock in the Whigham Park? Every hour from 8am-8pm they play a melody! 🔔 The whole park underwent a major remodel that's lasted a few years. New concrete paths, landscaping, the clock bell, seating. Still a few more finishing touches to go so stay tuned!
