🚑⚡ You may see EMS crews responding on E-Bikes during the upcoming Half Marathon and summer festivals!

EMS E-Bikes allow paramedics and EMTs to quickly navigate through crowds and areas where ambulances may have limited access. Equipped with essential medical gear and AEDs, bike medics can begin patient care faster when every second counts.

These units help improve response times, increase event coverage, and keep larger emergency vehicles available for more critical calls.

We’re excited to add another tool to help keep our community safe this summer!

This week, the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians and communities across the country recognize National EMS Week — a time to honor the dedication, compassion, and lifesaving work of emergency medical services professionals.

The Wheeling Fire Department proudly recognizes our paramedics, EMTs, dispatchers, and first responders who answer the call at all hours to serve and protect our community.

Spent the morning at Kings Daughters showing the kids the fire truck! 🚒 Even though they’re still a little young, we had a great time introducing them to basic fire safety and letting them check out the truck up close.

🧑‍🚒We wrapped up our spring tour of schools with the fire safety house at Madison Elementary School on Wheeling Island Tuesday! We’ll be back out with more school visits in the fall!

🇺🇸The American flag hung from WFD’s Ladder 6 along National Road earlier today as former Congressman David B. McKinley made his way to his final resting place.
