🚨 Safety Reminder: Hot Cars Kill 🚨

Every year, dozens of children die after being left in hot cars—including right here in Illinois. In 2024, 39 children lost their lives across the U.S. due to vehicular heatstroke. On even mild days, a car’s interior can reach deadly temperatures in just minutes. A cracked window is not enough.

📍DuPage County families—let’s prevent another tragedy.

💡 Tips to protect your child:
✅ Stop. Look. Lock. Always check the back seat before locking your car.
✅ If your routine changes, confirm your child’s safe arrival with a caregiver.
✅ Place your phone, bag, or briefcase in the back seat to help you remember.
✅ NEVER leave a child alone in a car—not even for a moment.

🚔 In Illinois, leaving a child under 6 unattended in a car for over 10 minutes is a Class A misdemeanor—and if harm occurs, it becomes a felony.

⚠️ Heatstroke deaths are 100% preventable. Let’s keep DuPage kids safe this summer.
