SPECIAL RECOGNITION…2026 PENNSYLVANIA AMBULANCE SERVICE OF THE YEAR

Earlier this evening, our TEAM was joined by Director Anthony Martin of the PA Department of Health Bureau of EMS, Director Brian Shaw of EMS West, Director Janette Swade of Pennsylvania Emergency Health Services Council (PEHSC), Butch Potter of PEHSC, and Duane Spencer of PEHSC as they presented us a plaque recognizing MFPAA as the 2026 Pennsylvania Ambulance Service of the Year-Large Agency Division. We are very excited humbled by this distinguished honor. Our TEAM works very hard to serve the community at the highest level possible.

EMS WEEK OPEN HOUSE

It was an exciting day at MFPAA as we kicked off EMS Week at our headquarters facility. We hosted over 100 visitors who learned more about MFPAA, met our personnel, and took part in a ceremony recognizing two cardiac arrest survivors, along with the dispatchers and MFPAA personnel who assisted in the rescue efforts.

Special thanks to Ms. Cheryl Rickens of UPMC Prehospital Care and the Sudden Cardiac Arrest Association, and Mr. Jeff Hodges from UPMC Passavant Hospital for their efforts in the recognition.

🚑 Emergency Medical Services Week 2026 🚑

Governor Josh Shapiro has officially proclaimed May 17–23, 2026, as Emergency Medical Services Week in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, recognizing the vital role EMS professionals play in protecting the health and safety of our communities.

EMS providers, career and volunteer, are ready 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to deliver lifesaving, out-of-hospital care. Their expertise, dedication, and commitment to ongoing education and service dramatically improve survival and recovery for patients experiencing sudden illness or injury.
Throughout this week, we encourage Pennsylvanians to join us in honoring the hard work and accomplishments of EMS professionals and to participate in activities that recognize this essential public service.
