Good afternoon,
Tonight is my first official meeting as a Pine-Richland School Board Director. There will be a 6pm Finance Governance Meeting.
Following the Finance Goverance meeting there will be a Combined Meeting at 7pm.
Both meetings take place in the DeWitt Room (backside of the highschool). The public is welcome to attend all meetings. Public comment periods occur at the end of the goverance meetings and at the beginning and end of the Combined Meeting. Here are links to the agendas for both meetings tonight.

IMPORTANT: If you haven't returned your mail ballot by now, you should probably hold onto it and take the ENTIRE ballot package (envelopes, too) to your regular voting location to be destroyed. They'll give you an in-person ballot in its place. There's no need to fill it out first.

POSTMARKS DO NOT COUNT. Mail ballots have to be received downtown by 8 p.m. in order to be included in the count.

It's time to stand up for PR teachers and librarians, who are being vilified for doing their jobs.

It's time to stand up to the attacks on LGBTQ and Black students from people who are trying to remove books that these already marginalized students identify with.

This is a turning point for our district. Your vote can decide the future of Pine-Richland and our children.

The PR "Kids First"-led school Pine-Richland school board shamed our district at the Oct. 23 meeting. Their behavior was unacceptable; you can't ignore your own policies in order to push your agenda. These people ran — and are running — on transparency, listening to parents/taxpayers, and supposedly putting kids first. In their desperation to ban books before the election, they showed their true selves — the opposite of what they campaigned on.

We can stop this power trip in its tracks. Please talk to your friends and neighbors, and on Nov. 7, please vote for Ashley Fortier and Gary Yang (Region 1); Russell Patterson (Region 2); or Jennifer Beuse and Matthew Mehalik (Region 3).

Woo-hoo! Check out my endorsement by Run For Something 😀

Congratulations to Together for PR school director candidate Ashley Fortier! Ashley was selected as one of Run for Something's celebrated crew of May endorsees!

FROM RUN FOR SOMETHING:

Ashley has devoted her career to making a positive impact on others. With a decade of experience in the social services field, Ashley has developed the skills necessary to advocate for the betterment of her community. Her passion for education is a prominent factor in her decision to run for School Board Director. She firmly believes that a quality public education is essential for all students to reach their full potential.

Ashley understands that there are challenges to achieving this goal. Opponents with differing values who use divisive tactics create an obstacle to providing a high-quality education for all students. These forced values have the potential to hurt our schools by driving out teachers and failing to prepare students for the real world.

As a School Board Director, Ashley’s priorities include creating strong connections between the school and families. It is essential that families are comfortable with the school and feel welcome to contribute to their child’s education. Furthermore, she recognizes the importance of creating a safe and welcoming environment for all students. Students need to feel secure to be able to learn and thrive. Finally, she is dedicated to establishing policies and providing resources needed to address student’s mental health needs.

Ashley’s experiences, both personally and professionally, give her the skills and understanding necessary to be an effective School Board Director. Her focus on inclusion, safety, and access to resources demonstrates her commitment to the success of all students.
