This past week has been full of training for your Patrol Officers here at the Wewoka Police Department.
Over the week, they completed 24 Hours of Active Shooter Training with the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics. This course consisted of building-clearing techniques, door breaching, and high-stress scenarios. Active shooter training is crucial for preparing organizations to respond effectively in the event of an active shooter incident, with a focus on prevention, preparedness, and response strategies.
All Officers with the Wewoka Police Department also completed their yearly Fi****ms Qualifications. The Qualification test includes shooting accuracy, safety protocols, and handling skills, ensuring that our officers maintain their shooting skills and are prepared for real-life scenarios.
We at the Wewoka Police Department would like to thank the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics for providing such an educational and skillful training experience, as well as the Wewoka Public School for granting us access to the building.
We would also like to extend a big thank you to firearm instructors Mike Windle and Brad Stuteville for taking the time out of their day to conduct the qualifications and ensure that each officer is proficient and safe in all real-life scenarios.
