Alabama 4-H is for youth ages 9 through 18 with Cloverbud programming for ages K-2. The Alabama 4-H Club year is August 1 to July 31. ... 4-H events are open to active members of chartered 4-H clubs that have regularly scheduled, planned, experiential educational meetings.

4-Hers! November 3rd will be here before we know it and we need more youth to participate in the annual 2026 Famers Federation Poster, Essay, and Video Contest! They can be dropped off by the 2nd to the Elmore County Extension office as well!

Entry forms and contest information are now available! Completed entries will be picked up from your school office on November 3, 2026.

Sewing with a Purpose!

Yesterday, our Elmore County 4-H Sewing Club was hard at work! This year, we have 12 wonderful youth in our club, and I am so proud of them!

At each meeting, our 4-H’ers get to create something special to take home. But this year, we’re adding something even more meaningful! We’re dedicating one or two meetings to creating projects that give back to our community.

Yesterday, our talented young sewers made hot plate mats for Meals on Wheels program for when they deliver their holiday meals.

I love seeing our 4-H’ers learn new skills while also learning the importance of serving others. It’s a perfect example of putting our Hands to Larger Service!

Elmore County 4-H Archery Club is in FULL SWING!

We are taking advantage of every opportunity to practice at the Wetumpka Archery Complex before the time changes and we lose some daylight, since there are no lights at the facility to practice, wish there was because we can see the 4-H abilities growing week after week!

We absolutely LOVE having this facility available to our club, and our 4-H archers are doing such a great job! It’s exciting to watch their skills, confidence, and teamwork continue to grow with each practice!

And of course a BIG thank you to our wonderful volunteers!

So proud of this group, and we can’t wait to see what the rest of the year brings!

It’s been a busy week for Elmore County 4-H!

Yesterday, our Homeschool Club had a wonderful time learning all about composting in a bottle!

A HUGE thank you to our amazing Master Gardeners for taking the time to lead this month’s meeting and share their knowledge with our 4-H’ers! We are so thankful for community volunteers who help make these hands-on learning experiences possible!

Stitching Their Way to 2nd Place!

This summer, 6 of our talented 4-H youth spent TWO days at our Sewing Day Camp with Ms. Carrie, working together to create a beautiful 4-H quilt to enter in the Alabama National Fair!

All their hard work, patience, and teamwork paid off with a 2nd PLACE WIN!

Mrs. Courtney and Ms. Carrie are SO proud of these six kiddos! Seeing their hard work turn into an award-winning quilt makes this even more special! 💚🍀

We had such a great afternoon Sunday with our 4-H Sh***un Club! We split into our two groups, and everything went so smoothly!

I can’t say enough good things about our volunteers! They did an amazing job working with our youth, taking the time to teach, encourage, and share their knowledge. I’m so thankful for the time and dedication they pour into this club! We truly couldn’t do it without them!
