Today's program was one of the best yet! Thanks to everyone who was a part of it, attended it, and to Commissioner Hines who kindly opened the courthouse door so we could enjoy it in cooler air.

Have no fear, the weather will clear! Join us today from 4-6pm at the Wetumpka City Cemetery for our annual cemetery tour! Check in at the tent next to the vault.

The cemetery tour is now in its 27th year. This year we will highlight the Tulane-Bates-Kidd vault (constructed in 1899), and reenactors will portray Mary Hill Sedberry (1871-1926), Henry Reynolds Storrs (1838-1861), Rev. Seymour B. Sawyer (1808-1844), Harriet Houghton Fyler (1804-1855), and Lamar Cantelou Smith (1871-1926).

Cost is just $5 per person. Details may be found here: https://www.facebook.com/events/1440843377330017

Join us on Sunday, May 17th at 2:30 p.m. for a special Elmore County 250 event—Charters of Freedom.

Judge Patrick Pinkston will share the story and significance of the Charters of Freedom, followed by Gardner Perdue, who will lead a meaningful moment for our community as we place a time capsule of letters into the Charters of Freedom vault. These letters will remain sealed until Constitution Day, September 17, 2087, marking the 300th anniversary of the U.S. Constitution.

The Color Guard will also present a musket salute as part of the program.
