The US National Weather Service Birmingham Alabama has placed our area under a Level 3 of 5 risk for severe weather tonight, including damaging winds up to 70 mph, quarter-size hail, and tornadoes.

Because these storms are expected to move through overnight, make sure you have multiple ways to receive warnings and a way to wake up if alerts are issued while you are asleep.

If Elmore County is placed under a Tornado Watch, Elmore County EMA will activate Safer Places as locations confirm they can open. Updates will be posted on the EMA map and social media.
