The Dedham Police Department will once again participate in the DEA National Drug Take-Back Day on Saturday April 25, 2026.

Unused or expired medications may be disposed of in the parking lot area of the Dedham Police Department located at 26 Bryant Street between 10 am – 1 pm on Saturday April 25, 2026. An officer will be present to accept the medications.

Why are the Dedham Police participating in this program?

- Unused or expired prescription medications are a public safety issue which can lead to accidental poisoning, overdose and abuse.
- Pharmaceutical drugs can be just as dangerous as street drugs when taken without a prescription or a doctor’s supervision.
- The majority of teenagers abusing prescription drugs get them from family and friends, and the home medicine cabinet.
- Unused prescription drugs thrown in the trash can be retrieved and abused or illegally sold.
- Unused drugs that are flushed contaminate the water supply. Proper disposal of unused drugs saves lives and protects the environment.
- Take-back programs are the best way to dispose of old drugs. The Dedham Police accept unused and expired drugs in the public lobby of the Police Station 365 days a year, 24 hours a day.

- For more information on prescription drug abuse go to:

We encourage all to do some spring cleaning. Check your medicine cabinets for unused and expired medications. Bring them to the Dedham Police Station on Saturday April 25, 2026, between 10 am – 1 pm for safe disposal.

The Town of Dedham and Dedham Public Schools are working collaboratively to develop a comprehensive long-term plan, known as the Facilities Master Plan (FMP), for our shared public spaces, including schools, libraries, Town buildings, and public safety facilities. Before any decisions are made, we want to hear from you.

On April 29, the Facilities Master Plan Steering Committee and Arrowstreet (project consultants) are hosting a Community Listening Session. This will be a dedicated space for residents like you to share what you think, what you need, and what you hope for.

Dedham Friends: Saturday is Election Day and I am grateful that so many friends and neighbors have stepped forward to serve our community.

I took a few minutes to write a letter of support for Liz O'Donnell for Town Moderator, shared in its entirety here.

Most important-- make your plan to VOTE Saturday, April 11th. All critical details here: https://www.dedham-ma.gov/town-departments/town-clerk/elections-voting.

Signs of spring in P5! Don’t forget to make a plan to vote next Saturday (between soccer/lacrosse/cleanups!)

Based on the timing of the storm and the rate of snow falling throughout the day and night (2 to 3 inches per hour), all non-emergency Town Buildings and Offices will be closed on Monday, January 26 to limit travel and allow for DPW crews and contractors to safely clear our roadways.

Key Reminders:
🅿️ Parking Ban: Restrictions remain in effect through 6AM Tuesday, January 27
❄️ DPW and additional plows continuously clearing roads: Start with emergency routes, major roadways, schools, public transit areas - don't worry, they will get to your neighborhood!
🗑️ Trash & Recycling: No curbside collection on Monday, January 26; one day delay for the remainder of the week
🏫 Dedham Public Schools: No school on Monday, January 26 as announced by Superintendent Murphy
‼️ Warming Center: If you do not have heat or need to warm up, the Public Safety Building will continue to serve as a warming center throughout the storm, from 8AM to 5PM daily.
🚨 Emergencies: Call 911 for emergencies
🏠 Stay Home: For your safety and for the safety of our plows and first responders, please stay home and off the roads.
🚒 Fire Hydrants and Drains: If you can, help us to clear nearby fire hydrants and storm drains - this gesture can have a big impact!

Stay warm, !
