Westport Fire Department Explorer program offers young men and women ages 14-18 an opportunity to experience hands on , real world training in fire and EMS. You will learn about the educational requirements for a career in Fire & EMS and will relieve tangible advice on steps you could take now to prepare and position yourself for a successful career in the fire or EMS. Career exploring combines so

me classroom training with hands-on learning. You get to experience firsthand what it's like to be a Firefighter or Paramedic. As an explorer, you will have the opportunity to travel to Fire Departments and other various public safety agencies throughout the state. Also have the opportunity to attend outings and events that will enhance your learning of the culture of the Fire Service.

Tonight we celebrated another successful year of the Westport Fire Explorers at our End of Year Muster Celebration!

Today, members of the Westport Fire Explorers had the honor of attending the Town of Westport’s annual Memorial Day Service as we joined the community in remembering and honoring the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. 🇺🇸

We are proud to stand alongside our local veterans, public safety personnel, and community members to pay our respects and continue the tradition of honoring those who served. Thank you to everyone who helped make today’s ceremony meaningful for our town.

Westport Fire Explorers had an awesome time being invited to the Tiverton Fire Department Open House! We had the opportunity to show off our turnout gear and run our own table handing out fire safety information to the community 🚒

A huge thank you to Chief Ferreria for the invitation and support—it means a lot to be able to work together and connect with the community.

And a big congratulations to our Explorer Lt. Nathan Mathias on completing his school project by bringing both departments together to help make this open house possible. Great work!

Westport Fire Explorers had an awesome night training with Dartmouth Fire District 2. Explorers worked on search & rescue inside their training tower, building skills in locating victims and navigating low-visibility environments.

Another group took things to the next level, operating off Westport’s Ladder 7 to practice entering and exiting through a 2nd story window 🪜, while others got hands-on experience with forcible entry techniques.

Big thank you to Dartmouth Fire District 2 for hosting and helping us sharpen our skills!

The Westport Fire Explorers were proud to support Westport Recreation at their Easter event! 🚒🐣

Our members helped set up and run games for the community, keeping the fun going all day long. We also had the opportunity to showcase Ladder 7 and share a little bit about the fire service with everyone who stopped by.
