We would like to notify motorists that all traffic on HixBridge Road from Cadmens Neck Road to Pine Hill Gas is currently closed for approximately the next hour due to crews working in the roadway. Only Local traffic will be permitted.
Officers are on scene directing traffic to ensure the safety of both motorists and workers. Drivers are urged to use caution when traveling in the area and should seek alternate routes whenever possible.

🍋☀️ Community Policing, One Cup at a Time! ☀️🍋

On this hot and sunny day, several Westport Police officers had the opportunity to stop by a local lemonade stand to cool off with a refreshing cup of lemonade and spend some time chatting with the young entrepreneurs behind the operation.

These interactions may seem simple, but they are an important part of community policing. Building positive relationships with our residents, especially our youngest community members, helps foster trust, open communication and a stronger connection between the police department and the people we serve.

We would like to thank the kids for their hospitality, hard work and delicious lemonade. Their stand was a welcome stop on a warm afternoon, and we enjoyed learning about their business while sharing some laughs along the way.

If you're out and about this summer, keep an eye out for these young business owners, as they plan to be out regularly selling lemonade. Be sure to stop by White Oak Run, say hello, and support their efforts!

Westport is a special community because of moments like these. We are proud to serve such a wonderful town.

***UPDATE***

The owner of the dog found in the area of 1219 Drift Road has been identified and has spoken with the Westport Police Department. The owner is currently in the process of being reunited with his dog.

Thank you to everyone who shared the original post and helped spread the word. We appreciate the community's assistance in helping ensure a safe return home for this four-legged friend.

🚧 Traffic Advisory – Horseneck Road Closure 🚧

The Westport Police Department would like to notify the public that Horseneck Road at Hixbridge Road is currently closed southbound due to ongoing roadway construction.

Additionally, during the daytime hours, BOTH northbound and southbound lanes will be closed for approximately one hour while crews install a large box culvert underneath the roadway.

Motorists are strongly encouraged to seek alternative routes and expect delays in the area.

Please use caution while traveling near the work zone and obey all traffic directions from officers on scene. Your cooperation helps ensure the safety of both the public and the officers directing traffic.

Please be advised that traffic heading south on Horseneck Road from Hixbridge Road is currently CLOSED due to multiple utility crews working in the area.

Crews from Phoenix Communication, Haugland Energy, and Elecnor Hawkeye are conducting work throughout the area. Motorists are encouraged to seek alternative routes and expect delays.

Officers are on scene to assist with traffic control and to ensure the safety of both the public and the crews working in the roadway.

Please be advised that Phoenix Communication will be conducting construction work on Hixbridge Road at Old Pine Hill Road.

During the work, westbound traffic on Hixbridge Road will be diverted north onto Old Pine Hill Road. Officers will be in the area directing traffic to assist motorists safely through the work zone.
