Town of Westport General Meeting
The Town of Westport met on April 6, 2026 at 7:00 p.m., with Mitch Wilson, Shane Storm, Troy Tschappat, Dan Schlosser, and Deb Schlosser present.
The following bills were presented:
City General: NW Energy- utilities ($733.52), Groton Independent-March meeting minutes and Equalization meeting notice and minutes (34.60), Menards-Hall kitchen paint and supplies ($42.48), CWF Concrete & Masonry-snow removal ($1250.00), US Treasury-1st Quarter federal taxes ($668.21), SD Unemployment-Unemployment Insurance ($12.15)
Sewer: NW Energy-Lift Station utilities ($71.71), DANR-Lift Station payment ($9310.01)
Water: Public Health Laboratory-water testing ($20.00), WEB-water ($2050.21), Water Maintenance District-February and March testing ($1377.56)
Troy Tschappat motioned, second by Shane Storm to pay all bills.
The following deposits were presented:
City General: State of SD ($2183.19), Brown County Collections ($408.69), Town Hall rental ($75.00) Interest ($48.59)
Sewer: Resident Payments ($2183.78)
Water: Resident Payments ($3275.67)
Public Concerns: Dan Schlosser said the neighbor’s dog makes “deposits” in his yard and would like it to stop. The Board will send a letter to that resident.
Old Business: None
New Business: Mitch Wilson was the only person to file a petition for the open Board spot. Mitch will continue for a three year term. The May meeting will be held the second meeting of May instead of the first Monday. May meeting will be held May 11, 2026.
