We at Lewis County EMS want to thank Lewis County First for working with sponsors to help accommodate a new medical unit for events, sporting coverage and other trail-related emergencies. This unit replaces a 20-year-old golf cart that has been well overdue for replacement. 🚨 BREAKING NEWS: Big win for EMS in WV! Today, during EMS Day, the House Finance Committee passed HB 5168, which allocates $12 million from surplus lottery funds to EMS services statewide. 🚨 Winter Weather – Community Preparedness Notice
As a winter storm potentially moves into our area this weekend, Lewis County EMS urges everyone to prepare now to stay safe and avoid emergencies if possible.

Please make sure you have:
• 🩺 Enough medications to last through the storm
• 🫁 Oxygen tanks fully stocked and working properly
(spare bottles if you use a concentrator)
• 🔥 Safe ways to stay warm in case of power outages
• 📱 Charged phones and emergency contacts ready
• 🧥 Dress in layers if having to go out

⚠️ Road conditions could become extremely dangerous. They will be just as hazardous for first responders as they are for everyone else. If you don’t absolutely need to travel, please stay off the roads.
Taking steps now helps keep you safe and allows EMS and other emergency crews to respond to the most critical calls during the storm.
Please check on neighbors, especially the elderly and those with medical needs.
Stay safe, stay warm, and be prepared.
