As the Valley Giving Guide Campaign draws to a close on December 31, we want to thank our supporters for contributing to the restoration of the Isham Saling House.

WADA became the owners of the house last Spring. This is an important project for the board of directors along with restoration of the Historic Downtown Commercial District. The result of the restoration project will be to open the house to the public as a historic house museum. This is a much-loved home built by Isham Saling for his family. Our first step is having Crow/Clay Architects return to Weston to re-survey the house and update the report that they generated in 1999. Once we have the updated report, we will begin working with professionals to start planning the complete restoration of the house that was started several years ago. https://ishamsalinghouse.com/

Gem volunteer work day this Saturday, 9 a.m. The Usual Suspects will be there, a couple of extra hands would be most welcome to move some things. Lunch will be provided.
The facility will be used by CommuniCare, the local school faculty and for a birthday party during the month of December.

Where were you in 1961? Maybe a decade or two away from coming into the world? Within these pages are future fathers and mothers, grandparents...great-grand parents. Legacies that are still represented from Weston to the far reaches of the globe. It's a fascinating snapshot of a vibrant community with the support of many businesses that are now a distant memory. In the next decade Weston would merge with McEwen in Athena, bringing together the Tigers and Scottie Dogs.
