West Platte Fire District is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Assistant Treasurer to support our financial operations.
Key responsibilities are performing monthly reconciliations of bank accounts to ensure accuracy of accounts, record financial transactions in accounting software, & preparation of monthly financial reports for presentation to the district's board
of directors. Other responsibilities include assisting in preparation of district's budget & preparation of annual report to the state.
This position requires appoximately 10-20 hours of your time per month and you will be working out of your home office.

Pumper 55 has finally arrived and will be in service soon. This truck will replace Pumper 54 which has served the community for 15 years as our front line fire apparatus. Pumper 54 will be placed in a reserve role and still be used as a back up.

Thank you to our West Platte Fire Board, including past members, for their support. Thank you also to all of the members of the fire district that contributed with ideas and helped design this truck. This truck will serve the community for many years to come.

The Kansas City Metro has just been upgraded to a LEVEL 4 severe risk for Friday afternoon. A significant wind risk is in place with damaging 85+ MPH gusts possible. Large hail and a tornado or two are also possible as storm develop around 2 PM and push through the Metro from 3 PM to 6 PM. Please take precautions and be safe.

Last Wednesday night we had a structure fire in Weston. Our on duty crews hard work saved the home despite many hazards including live power lines on the ground.

Thank you to our mutual aid partners who responded to assist, I really appreciate how the departments in this county are all so willing to step up and help each other when needed.

Thank you also to the many off duty West Platte firefighters who came to help without even being asked.
