The project took longer than we hoped but the result is something the community can now enjoy, and Gator Run students will really appreciate when they come back to school in August.

School is out, but we have some “summer reading” to do. Construction is going vertical at Windmill Ranch Park. Shade cover supports, the park restroom building, and the walking pathway are taking shape. Weather cooperating, students at Everglades, and the rest of the community, should be able to play in this park come the fall.

🛩️Areas of Broward County to be Sprayed for Mosquitoes by Airplane🛩️

TIME CHANGE NOTED BELOW:
In response to a high number of service requests and recent surveillance data, the Mosquito Control Section of the County's Public Works and Environmental Services Department will conduct aerial spraying for adult mosquitoes over portions of Davie, Southwest Ranches, Pembroke Pines, Miramar, and Weston. These flights will occur at night between Saturday, June 6 and Tuesday, June 9, 2026, barring unforeseen conditions or weather delays. Spraying will take place between Midnight and 6:00 AM.

Broward County has been hearing your complaints about mosquitos. They have reached out to us to let us know that they are doing ground based, targeted treatments and they are also looking at the criteria necessary to perform an aerial spray. If they do schedule that we will notify the community through our media channels.

Weston has held the lowest property tax rate in Broward County for 30 consecutive years. We haven’t raised our millage rate in 9 years. We are fiscally responsible, and our residents deserve to know what’s at stake as Tallahassee debates property tax reform.

Proposed reform could eliminate the ad valorem revenue that funds parks and recreation programs and other essential services. Public safety may be protected…may be…but Weston is much more than safety.

A one-size-fits-all solution to a problem that doesn’t exist is dangerous and unnecessary. Property tax reform must include meaningful protections for fiscally responsible communities.

🎆Join the Parade! Register to be in Weston's Fourth of July Parade🎆

Weston’s most treasured hometown tradition is back, and applications are now open to participate in the City’s annual Fourth of July Parade on Saturday, July 4.

Local groups and organizations including youth groups, performing groups, sports teams, car collectors and community organizations are encouraged to apply and be part of this long-standing holiday tradition. This year’s theme, Two Milestones, One Celebration: America 250 • Weston 30, honors both America’s 250th anniversary and the City of Weston’s 30th anniversary with a community celebration full of patriotism, pride and hometown spirit.
