The Board of Education of Carroll County will hold one session of Public Participation during its meeting on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at the Board offices at 125 North Court Street in Westminster. During this session, there will be an opportunity for up to 15 members of the public to address the Board. Each speaker will be allowed three minutes.

Digital sign-up will be available on the Carroll County Public Schools website beginning on Monday, September 7, at 4:00 p.m. and ending on Tuesday, September 8, at 9:00 p.m. Click here to register. The Board of Education of Carroll County will briefly convene in open session on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. in the Charles I. Ecker Board Room at 125 North Court Street in Westminster to announce they will be going directly into closed session as permitted by the Maryland Open Meetings Act, Section 3-305 (b) of the General Provisions Article of the Annotated Code of Maryland and Section 3-103 of the General Provision Articles of the Annotated Code of Maryland. The public Board meeting will commence at 4:00 p.m. in the Charles I. Ecker Board Room immediately following Closed Session.

During the Closed Session, the Board members will be discussing the appointment, employment, assignment, promotion, discipline, demotion, compensation, removal, resignation, or performance evaluation of appointees, employees, or officials over whom it has jurisdiction; and any other personnel matter that affects one or more specific individuals; legal advice regarding confidentiality; the formation of HIAC (Health Insurance Advisory Committee) and Security LPR Cameras.

Carroll County Public Library will kick off the Carroll Book Festival with a special Meet & Greet with kids’ favorite characters! Refreshments will be served. Advance ticket purchase required to attend. For the safety and enjoyment of all attendees, each adult may be accompanied by up to 3 children. Free to attend for children 2 and under.
