Wishing everyone a safe and happy Halloween. Remember to toss those candy wrappers in the trash - they aren't recyclable and create scary contamination. Trick or treat pails and other decor don't belong in the recycling either. Please reuse those items next year or donate items in good condition. Don't forget to use Recycle Coach to help you recycle right!

Happy National Cat Day! This is Sally, she is a rescue cat, and she LOVES plastic bags. Only she knows why she loves them so much. If you don't have a Sally in your life to help you reuse your bags, please take them to a retailer drop-off for recycling. NEVER put plastic bags of any kind in the recycling bin. Check the link in the comments for more information, and don't forget to use Recycle Coach to help you recycle right.

Trick or treat? Here’s the trick — most candy wrappers aren’t easily recycled. 😬🍫

This Halloween, make your celebration a little greener — choose treats with recyclable packaging, skip the single-use plastics, and keep those wrappers out of our streets and streams. 🌎✨

Halloween should be the fun kind of spooky time of the year, yet for some of our wildlife it can be terrifying. While there isn’t a hard statistic pointing out how many birds are casualties of fake spiderwebs there are many cases documented that can be found online.

A lot of fake spiderwebs consist of synthetic fibers such as polyester, nylon, or PVC which aren’t biodegradable and often pieces get blown off and linger outside where they can harm animals. Simply leaving natural spiderwebs outside as they happen is the best bet. That said, if you have artificial spiderwebs, use them indoors, that way you can also keep reusing them.

Used aluminum drink cans can be recycled and back on supermarket shelves as new drink cans in as little as 60 days. But if an aluminum can goes to landfill, it will stay there for 500 years before it oxidizes. Be sure to recycle every can every time!
