Good morning Westminster!
As we observe National Police Week from May 10–16, we pause to recognize and honor the courage, dedication, and sacrifice of law enforcement professionals across our nation. This week serves as a meaningful reminder of the men and women who put on the badge each day and commit themselves to protecting others, often at great personal risk.
We especially extend our sincere gratitude to the members of the Westminster Police Department for their continued service, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to the Westminster community. Their daily work goes far beyond responding to emergencies. They build relationships, support families, maintain public safety, and stand ready at all hours to help those in need.
The strength of a community is rooted in the people who serve it, and Westminster is fortunate to have officers who dedicate themselves so fully to that mission.
During this week, we also solemnly remember and pay tribute to the law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty. The sacrifice by Officer Keith Nivala (EOW 8.20.1989) and Officer Larry Jupin (EOW 11.29.2002) will never be forgotten, and we honor the families, friends, and fellow officers who continue to carry their memory forward.
Please take a moment this week to thank the officers who serve our community, our Commonwealth, and our country. Their dedication, integrity, and sacrifice deserve our respect and appreciation not only during National Police Week, but throughout the entire year.
