Any 8th grade student interested in taking the PSAT/NMSQT here at West Oak Middle School should pick up a permission form from the guidance office. The cost of the test is $18, and the money and permission form must be turned in by Friday, Sept. 18th.

This week is Spirit Week as we prepare to face off against Walhalla in football on Thursday at 5:30. Today we hope you are dressed like Adam Sandler. Tomorrow is dress like an internet meme. On Wednesday we want students to dress like teachers and teachers to dress like students. Please remember that all dress code rules still apply on school dress up days.

Our Lady Warrior Volleyball Team will play today at home against Belton at 5:30. They will play again on Wednesday at Dacusville at 5:30.

Make Up Picture Day is tomorrow for students who were absent for the first picture day.

On Thursday there will be an interest meeting during lunch for 7th & 8th grade boys interested in playing soccer this year at WOHS.

The Tikiz Shaved Ice Truck will be here on Friday during lunches.

The FFA (Future Farmers of America) is now accepting students for this year. The FFA dues are $10 to join and another $10 if you want a FFA T-Shirt. FFA membership forms are available in Mrs. Bolt’s room or in the main office and are due by this Friday.

7th & 8th Grade students attending the Washington DC Field Trip can participate in the T-Shirt Fundraiser this month. The deadline to purchase a shirt is September 25. Forms and money can be turned into your homeroom teacher anytime before then.

Parents going to Lake Jocassee have until tomorrow to make their payment.

Tomorrow is the Westminster Apple Festival! The Band & Chorus will be performing at this year’s Apple Festival in the gazebo on Friday from 12:00-12:30.

Parents planning to check their student out early for dismissal must come after 12:30 in order for their student to be counted for half a day. There will be no dismissals after 2:45.

Students who are planning to walk to the Apple Festival must turn in a parent note by Wednesday with a parent phone number and signature. Students will be walking unsupervised to Downtown Westminster.

7th & 8th Grade students wanting to go to Washington DC this Spring must pay the $125 deposit by tomorrow. Parents wanting to chaperone must turn in the interest form by tomorrow.

Picture Proofs are ready to be viewed and ordered online. Parents can use your Student ID Number to view your yearbook picture online. Orders are due online tomorrow by visiting ctp.accessmyevent.com/woms.

Our FFA is also selling mums this year. 8" mums are $10 and 12" mums are $20 and orders can be made using the google form found in Parent Square or on Facebook. The deadline to order your mum is tomorrow.

Mrs. Queen’s class learned about how being different is Beautiful during their book of the week “The Big Orange Splot” Exploration! Students did a book study, learned vocabulary, and created their own unique houses that represented themselves, just like in the book!

Swimmer of the Week: Isaac Clay

We are so proud of Isaac and the hard work and dedication he shows at practice each day. His commitment is paying off as he continues to set personal best times and is helping his relay team set new school records at each swim meet.

The West-Oak Swim Team will compete today at the Foothills YMCA at 6:00.
