Today, the City of Westminster remembers and honors the over 3,000 lives lost and the countless others forever changed by the tragedy of 9/11. Twenty-five years have passed since, and we never forget.

As we continue to remember together how a day like 9/11/01 changed the world forever, the City of Westminster and OCFA Division 1 invite you to join us this morning at any one of the following Division 1 stations for brief commemoration ceremonies at 8:45 a.m. Please arrive by 8:30 a.m. at any of the following locations:

🚒 6061 Hefley St.

This Friday marks the 25th year since the tragedy of 9/11. The City of Westminster will be joining OCFA Division 1 to honor the heroes still with us today, the heroes who lost their lives or sacrificed themselves to save others, and those who still live with the pain today.

All members of the public are invited to any of the Division 1 stations to join in a commemoration ceremony at 8:45 a.m. this Friday. Please arrive by 8:30 a.m. at any Division 1 fire station:

Happy Labor Day! Labor Day is a national holiday that recognizes the contributions of workers everywhere. To all celebrating Labor Day today, stay safe and thank you for all you do. 🙌🏻 Here are a few reminders for today:

🏢 City Hall offices are closed today, but will reopen tomorrow at 7:30 a.m.
🚓🚒 Public safety services are unaffected and remain fully operational. Westminster Police Department OCFA Division 1
🧹 Street sweeping is canceled today.
🗑️ There will be no trash pick-up today. Trash pick-up will be delayed this week by a day. If your trash pick-up service and street sweeping occur on the same day, please place your bin ON the curb instead of the street. Midway City Sanitary District

Help us design a logo that will represent the City of Westminster’s 70th Anniversary in 2027! 🎉

We’re looking for original designs that capture Westminster’s history, identity, culture, and community spirit. Winning designs will be featured on promotional materials, publications, digital communications, special events, and more throughout the anniversary year.

✨ Two categories:
🔹 General Category: Westminster residents ages 13+ and eligible Westminster businesses
🔹 K–12 Category: Students of all ages in grades K–12, residents of Westminster, and attend a school serving Westminster.


🏆 Prizes:
💰 General Category Winner: $500 in gift cards to local Westminster businesses
🎁 K–12 Category Winner: Commemorative merchandise featuring the winning design
