πŸš’ Exciting news! πŸš’

This week, we have officially placed our new Engine 2 into service!

Engine 2 is a 2026 KME Severe Service pumper that has been several years in the making. A huge thank you to all of the members who dedicated their time and effort to making this project a reality.

One fun feature of the new engine is its all-red cab. While our current apparatus have a white top, we chose to bring back a classic look that was used by the department from its beginnings until 1990.

Effective immediately, Engine 2 will serve as our primary response apparatus for emergency calls. We are proud to put this new truck into service and look forward to serving the community with it for many years to come.

Be sure to give Engine 2 a wave if you see us out and about! πŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

FINAL DECISION!! Game Time: SUNDAY @ 5:00PM!

We admit there has been some confusion regarding the start time to Sunday's Police/Fire vs Coaches/Volunteers Softball Game. But after the back and forth of player and field availability, and now a final decision based on weather, the game is scheduled to start at 5:00PM on Sunday the 7th!

The actual field (softball vs major) is to be determined based on conditions after the rain. And should the weather or field conditions not cooperate, we will reschedule by 2:00PM and post on social media with an update.

We appreciate the support and understanding as we navigate the weather! We are still hoping for an amazing community night!

As you're making plans for this weekend, please be aware that scattered severe storms are possible across Massachusetts on Saturday evening. β›ˆοΈ

Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors!

Heads up for Sat evening: Isolated to scattered strong to severe storms are possible across the region, primarily between 6 PM and 10 PM. A Level 2 "Slight Risk" is in place for portions of interior southern New England, while a Level 1 "Marginal Risk" covers the coast. The main threats are damaging winds and frequent lightning. Stay weather-aware and keep an eye on the radar if you have outdoor plans!

June Meeting for Westminster Emergency Management:

Your Westminster Emergency Management recently held their monthly training session.
This months training was focused on ICS (Incident Command System) Incident command is very important in any type of emergency scenario, including fires, floods, hurricanes, tornados concerts and parades.
The ICS is a pre designed management structure that is needed to keep everyone in sync at an incident, including the full time fire dept, police dept and your Emergency Management volunteers. In Westminster, we are committed to the safety and protection of our residents, visitors and property.
