Chi Charlie Nguyen is currently City of Westminster Council Member, and he is running for Mayor in this November General Election 2022. Chi Charlie Nguyen was elected to the City Council in 2018 and served as Vice-Mayor in 2020.

Chi Charlie Nguyen is also an elected Director to the Midway City District since 2016. His leadership has been recognized by his Board with immediate election to President of the Midway City Sanitary District in the following years and served in this capacity for three consecutive years. He was re-elected in 2020 for the second term.

Chi Charlie Nguyen is an outstanding leader in our community. He was raised in our community; He is an active local community spokesperson in radio and television; a cherished frequent featured speaker. He is a business entrepreneur building his thriving media communications sales volume every year. He truly represents the best in leadership for Westminster and Midway City.

EXPERIENCED BUSINESS LEADER Chi Charlie Nguyen is an Engineer and a Businessman. He is successfully managing his own business in the City of Westminster. In his engineering profession, he worked for the Boeing, Rockwell International and B/E Aerospace companies. He worked as a Design Engineer, a Risk Management Engineer, a Project Manager and Manager. His last position at Rockwell was as a Senior Manager managing Department of Engineering.

WELL EDUCATED LEADER Chi Charlie Nguyen grew up here in Orange County. He attended Westminster High School and obtained his bachelor’s degree in electrical Engineering from California State University, Fullerton. He obtained his master’s degree from California State University, Long Beach.

COMMUNITY LEADER Chi Charlie Nguyen is a community leader. He has devoted countless hours, days and weeks as a volunteer on numerous projects for the last 40 years. He served as Executive Director for the Youth & Young adult ministry for over 20 years. He organized retreats and arranged schedules for group to visit the juvenile hall, served food to the homeless shelters in O.C. and Los Angeles and visited elders in the nursing home. He also taught U.S. citizenship classes in local churches.

FAITH LEADER Chi Charlie Nguyen is a faithful member of his church and faith community. He and his wife have imparted their deeply held belief system to their three children; they are seen many days of the week at their place of worship. Charlie has been instrumental in having is congregation religious leaders share their faith-based joy at Westminster City events.

FAMILY LEADER Chi Charlie Nguyen is married to his wife Jacqueline for 28 years. He is the proud father of three children ranging in age from 25 to 21. His children attend local University. He has instilled the idea of service-to-others, especially his children, serving the community.

Chi Charlie Nguyen will lead our Westminster City communities with passionate vision for continued municipal improvement. With his management and leadership skills, along with his decades of community service, Charlie is everything in one fabulous community leader. Charlie is prepared to take on new leadership roles and more responsibility serving Westminster citizens. Charlie will make our community safer and the best place as an “All America City.”

STATEMENT BY COUNCILMAN CHI CHARLIE NGUYEN

CANDIDATE FOR MAYOR, CITY OF WESTMINSTER

(June 24, 2022)

Today, I am honored to announce my candidacy for Mayor of the City of Westminster. With a strong voter mandate to retain the right of Westminster voters to directly elect their own mayor in this past June 7th Primary, which I support, my continuing commitment to all the residents of this great city will be one of full transparency and accountability at City Hall.

I am honored to represent the City of Westminster, my beautiful hometown. As your councilmember, I have worked hard for the best interest of ALL Westminster residents. My family and I own a small printing and real estate business in the city for many years and I have participated in countless charitable and civic activities in Westminster, helping kids and their families to lead better, safer and healthier lives.

I have stood up and fought for our community my entire adult life — from my days as a university student, business professional in Westminster, a community activist, to my time on the Westminster City Council. Year after year, the more things changed – the need to stand steadfastly with your fellow residents and neighbors remains the same.

I often hear from business owners and residents alike that City Hall often makes it harder to do business in Westminster. Fees are too high. Regulations are overly burdensome. And the government bureaucracy too often views the public it supposedly serves as adversaries, and not as the potential human resource that contributes to the economy of the city.

I understand your concern on how difficult it is to run a profitable business with the burden of high fees, an unresponsive bureaucracy and unnecessary regulations. I will continue to work with city staff to correct these issues. Here are my goals for our city in the next four years as your mayor:

• Balance Westminster’s annual budget with a healthy surplus
• Maintain low municipal taxes and fees
• Renovate and expand city parks for all Westminster residents
• Promote family and small businesses to build a robust revenue base
• Deliver more public safety resources to better serve and protect all residents
• Commit to full transparency and accountability to Westminster residents while reducing red-tape at City Hall
• Provide funding for road and street improvements to relieve traffic congestion
• Create a favorable business environment to attract more investment and consumption, which increases city revenues for the benefit of the city

As Mayor, I will continue to work hard for the best interest of ALL Westminster residents and maintain the pride of our city as an “All-America City”.

In addition to the residents of Westminster, I want to thank my family, particularly my wife, Jacqueline, for her love and unwavering support, along with numerous friends and volunteers, who have been with me throughout my public service journey.

I am also grateful for the invaluable counsel of my advisors, community leaders, fellow elected colleagues, and numerous organizations that have been behind me throughout these years. They were on the front-line along my side, fighting the good fight. Ultimately, this campaign will prove that it is not only a win for Chi Charlie Nguyen, nor a win for any one individual, but promises to be a collective victory for all the residents of Westminster.
