After joining Lake Charles Memorial Health System in 1992, Tammy recognized a critical need within our community and became instrumental in establishing the Southwest Louisiana Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) Program. Through her compassion, professionalism, and unwavering dedication, she ensured survivors received dignified and supportive care during some of the most difficult moments of their lives.

Her impact extended across Calcasieu, Cameron, Beauregard, Jeff Davis, and Allen Parishes, touching countless lives and helping strengthen resources, awareness, and advocacy efforts for survivors throughout the region.

Tammy’s work reflected the very best of healthcare and community service — leading with empathy, respect, and compassion for others. Her legacy will continue to inspire and positively influence Southwest Louisiana for years to come.

We extend our deepest gratitude for Tammy’s service, leadership, and the lasting difference she made in the lives of so many. Please continue to keep her family, friends, and colleagues in your thoughts and prayers.

Today, the Westlake Fire Department had the honor of visiting the Westlake High School Special Services Summer Camp alongside our special guest, Sparky the Fire Dog!

Our firefighters spent time with the students discussing important fire and life safety topics, including when and how to call 911, the importance of having a designated family meeting place in the event of a fire, and some of the equipment Westlake firefighters use every day to help keep our community safe.

The students did an amazing job participating, asking questions, and learning valuable safety information in a fun and interactive environment. We would like to thank the staff and students of Westlake High School Special Services Summer Camp for welcoming us today.

The Westlake Fire Department remains committed to providing fire prevention education and building strong relationships within our community.
GO Rams!
