Tuesday, May 24th through Friday, May 27th

The Central Pine Barrens Commission and New York State Department of Environmental Conservation plan to conduct prescribed fire operations within the Demo Forest 1 Burn Unit located south of Whiskey Road within the greater Rocky Point Pine Barrens State Forest(as indicated on the map).

The Go-No Go determination for prescribed fire implementation will be made by the Burn Boss reflective of weather and other considerations the day of.

This forest management practice is being conducted to reduce wildfire risk and increase public safety as well as to advance ecosystem restoration and resiliency to southern pine beetle.

All burns are implemented by prescribed fire professionals to ensure safety.

The Central Pine Barrens Commission and New York State Department of Environmental Conservation are conducting prescribed fire operations within the Sarnoff West Burn Unit located east of CR 104 and CR 31 within the greater David Sarnoff Pine Barrens State Forest in Riverside(as indicated on the map).
