We would like to extend our sincere congratulations to Firefighter Travis Collins of the High Point Fire Department on being named the 2025 Firefighter of the Year! 🔥

This recognition is a true reflection of your dedication, professionalism, leadership, and commitment to the fire service. Your hard work toward expanding your technical rescue certifications, earning relief driver certifications across all apparatus, and continually striving to better yourself and those around you does not go unnoticed.

Frontline care is a team sport. 🤝

While Life 1 and AirLife Virginia provide the support and the lift, the mission is anchored on the ground by our paramedics and the dedicated volunteers at Francisco Volunteer Fire Department (Station 34).

It is the seamless handoff between ground clinicians and our regional partners that defines our system.

This moment in time was captured by someone who has lived every link in that chain. Special thanks to Greg Collins for sharing his original photo. As a former Director for this agency, a paramedic, a local ED Nurse, and a volunteer at Station 34, Greg’s lens perfectly captures the partnership required to serve our community.
