As a candidate for the Westfield Board of Education, my goal is to bring my experience as a 21 year veteran teacher and a mother to the planning and decision making process that shapes our children's future.
Being in education for over two decades, I have seen a lot of advancements in school procedures and policies that serve and protect each student's right to a quality education. In that time, I have also seen a lot of mismanagement of funds that never made it to the students, faculty, and staff that operate as the foundation of our children's educational future. My goal as a member of the Westfield Board of Education is to represent the most important members of our school district, the students, faculty and staff.
The student population is diverse in their interests, strengths and weaknesses. Westfield has some of the top academic and athletic students in the state. All students deserve to have their endeavors fostered in the most supportive environment possible.
The team that ensures the students receive a quality education begins with the faculty. The faculty needs to be professionally supported and provided opportunities that attract the brightest minds to teach in our classrooms. The superior education is further strengthened by the staff, which includes but not limited to coaches, the custodial department, and the maintenance departments and secretaries.
There are many integral parts that operate in unity to create the exceptional education Westfield Public School District provides. That teamwork and subsequent exceptional student body is recognized both state and nation wide. It is my goal to continue Westfield Public Schools' educational prowess.
