🌱 Spotting Science in Action: Westfield Creek Stream Monitoring! 🌊
Our Westfield Area High School AP Biology students have been busy trading their textbooks for boots and putting real-world science to work!
Through an incredible partnership with the Water Action Volunteers program and the Marquette County Land and Water Conservation Department, our students took on the role of field scientists to monitor the health of our very own Westfield Creek. 🧪📈

Here’s how they did it:
In the Field: Students gathered hands-on stream monitoring data, measuring everything from water quality to local aquatic life.
In the Lab: They analyzed their findings and created detailed trifold presentations breaking down the different elements of stream health.
In the Community: To wrap up the project, students formally presented their data and insights directly to the experts at the Marquette County Land and Water Conservation Department!

We are so proud of these students for using their education to protect and understand our local environment.

STATE Send off! Our State Track and Field qualifiers will be doing their Fire Truck ride leaving the Fire Station at 2:50 and taking their normal route through the elementary parking lot then to the High School. Come out and wish them luck!!

The Westfield Area High School AP Biology students recently took a field trip down to the Ethel Everhard Memorial Library, but they weren't looking for college-level textbooks. Instead, they were on a mission to find the perfect kindergarten science books! While they were at the library, they left a little brainy inspiration behind by sidewalk chalking some awesome science facts and nerdy jokes.
Back at the school, the AP Bio students used the books they selected to design hands-on, creative science activities tailored just for our youngest learners.
They then took their projects on the road to Westfield Elementary! The high schoolers paired up with Mrs. Kind's kindergarten class to read the books and run the activities together. From exploring creepy-crawlies to making dirt cups, it was an incredible day of mentorship, learning, and plenty of laughs.

Congratulations to our athletes who qualified and competed at the WI Middle School Track and Field Championships on Saturday, May 23rd. Mackenzie Sigourney was the 1st place champion in the 8th grade girls 100M Hurdles (breaking a 10 year school record). Andrew Rodger finished in 9th place in the 6th grade boys Triple Jump (breaking a 4 year school record).
