AEP Pre-Storm Advisory September 4, 2026 AEP Ohio Monitoring Possible Severe Weather

What You Need to Know
• Two rounds of severe weather capable of 60-75 mph wind gusts and flash flooding are
possible across most of Ohio this afternoon and tonight.
• Wet soil and high winds may make it easier for trees to uproot and cause power outages.
• Customers in north, central, southern and eastern parts of our service area should prepare.
• AEP Ohio makes outage information easy to find: Visit AEPOhio.com/Outages.
We strongly encourage customers with medical issues and life-supporting equipment to
have a backup power source and an alternate plan in case of a power outage.

After many years of complaints and steady follow-up by our police department, ODOT has finally, officially, posted no parking along the sound wall on State Route 161 eastbound, at Strawberry Farms Blvd. This has been an "overnight" spot for tractor-trailer rigs. BTPD will now be able to enforce the prohibited parking.

EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT
Meet Mitsu Andrews, Equipment Operator

Mitsu has worked for Blendon Township in the Service Department for almost 3 years now as an Equipment Operator. He attended Westerville North High School and graduated in 2017. He joined us from the City of Westerville, where he worked in the Park Maintenance Department before having the opportunity to work for Blendon Township.

He is a simple person who enjoys time with family, friends, and his cat. As for hobbies, he enjoys gaming and listening to audiobooks and music.

Central College Road Construction Update: The City of Columbus is working to get the intersection of Central College and Lee opened up today, as well as Central College in both directions. There will still be some construction work this year, but it will not involve closures of the road.

They will be closing it again in early May of next year to finish the work, and we will post updates as we receive them.
