EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT
Meet Eric Moore, Zoning Director:
Eric retired after a 36-year career with Franklin County as a Manager and a 40-year, mostly part-time law enforcement career (26 years with Blendon Township). Eric retired in December 2024.
In March 2025, Eric returned to Blendon Township to fill a Full-Time position as the Zoning Director. In this position, he oversees Code Compliance, conducts the Board of Zoning and Zoning Commission Meetings, issues Residential and Commercial Zoning Compliance Permits, as well as manages the Commercial Building Department. You may have noticed the new Pro Fleet Building on Westerville Rd at Paris Ct., the new renovations and businesses along Executive Parkway, as well as the progress of Glengary Center. Sunbury Plaza will see the inclusion of a new Wing Stop/Little Caesars, which took over the Arby’s restaurant, as well as a new Dutch Bros Coffee that will be constructed once the old PNC bank building is razed.
Eric has a varied background in management with Franklin County, including supervising and managing staff and supervisors, serving as the Lead for the safety team, and serving as the Agency coordinator with the public facilities management team.
In addition to his 36 years of service at the county, Eric has also worked in law enforcement with New Albany, Minerva Park, and Blendon Township, with over 40 years of law enforcement experience.
Eric and his wife (Trudi) of 32 years have been long-time residents of the Westerville area. Eric and his wife have two adult daughters, Taylor and Kaitlyn, son-in-law Evan, and a beautiful granddaughter, Ellie (who is their pride and joy), along with a Chocolate lab, Shadow, a Dachshund-King Charles Cavalier mix, TJ, and a Tortoiseshell feline, Kiki, to round out the family.
Eric enjoys family time, yearly trips to Myrtle Beach, travel, and accompanying his wife on work trips to various cities, including San Diego, New Orleans, New York, and Las Vegas. Eric and his wife enjoy spending as much time as possible with their granddaughter, Ellie, who turned 1 in March.
