Did you know that you can now access the Times Literary Supplement Archive with your Courtright Memorial Library account? It's a great database resource for many areas of research. Be sure to check it out and let us know what you find!

The Times Literary Supplement (TLS) has served for over 100 years as a leading forum for fine writing, literary discoveries, and insightful debate. The weekly review was founded in 1902 as a free supplement to The Times (London), and it became a separate publication in 1914. From its Anglo-centric beginnings, it developed into a truly international publication by the mid-twentieth century, with contributors from every region of the world and coverage ranging from literature and criticism to history, science, politics, and art.

Until 1974, writings and influential criticism by hundreds of the twentieth century's most important writers and thinkers were kept anonymous to foster open discussion. The Times Literary Supplement Historical Archive now discloses the identity of these contributors.

This week, we have had to adjust our hours to accommodate a staff conference, training, and the holiday weekend. Please note that we open at 1:30pm on Tuesday 5/19, close at 4pm on Friday 5/22, and are closed all day on Saturday 5/23 through Monday 5/25 for Memorial Day. On Thursday 5/21, the building will be fully closed (including 24/7 pick up lockers and book drops) for an all-day training. You're likely to see emergency vehicles, but there is no need to worry as it is just due to the training. Be sure to check out your items ahead of time! Staff will still be reachable from 9am to 6pm via phone (614-823-1984), via chat (on our website), and via email at [email protected] or [email protected] (for account questions). We apologize for any inconvenience, and we hope you have a great week!
