The Otterbein University Police Department (OPD) is comprised of 10 full-time OPOTA certified police officers serving the Otterbein University and Westerville, Ohio community since 2009. The Otterbein University Police Department reports and/or investigates criminal and non-criminal activity occurring on campus, at off-campus locations of student organizations officially recognized by Otterbein, a
nd off-campus when requested by the Westerville Division of Police. Safety and security services Otterbein University Police Department provides to the campus community include general patrol; security escorts; facility/residence access and security; vehicle jumps and unlocks; bicycle registration; crime prevention programming; fire safety; and emergency preparedness and training. Otterbein University Police Department enforces the state law, City of Westerville Ordinances, and Otterbein Campus Life Handbook (CLH) regulations, including parking regulations and violations of the Student Code of Conduct. Otterbein University Police Department maintains a close working relationship with the Westerville Division of Police (WPD) and various state and surrounding local law enforcement agencies. In addition, the Otterbein University Police Department and WPD often work together during major events occurring on campus.
