We're incredibly proud of choral faculty member Marla Butke for her presentation on Dalcroze Eurhythmics at the national ACDA conference in Minneapolis! This was the talk of the conference and many people commented that it was the best session!!! Marla's book "Meaningful Movement: A Music Teacher's Guide to Dalcroze Eurhythmics" was published last November. Congratulations, Marla!

I saw this recent posting and thought to pass it along for anyone that is interested in contributing. The original goal has been met, but additional funds would be a donation towards the general choral fund. No pressure, just wanted to share.

For this past Homecoming concert, we didn't have the "real" version of the Malcolm Sargent arrangement of "Silent Night." Because the Alumni Choir has no budget and the touring and choir supplies budgets have not increased in over 10 years, I created this GoFundMe campaign to buy in-print copies...

For anyone traveling from out of town and wanting to pack their bags for HOMECOMING or for those wanting to know what laundry to wash, 😊 Concert attire is black bottoms, white tops, and black ties for men (I suppose if any women wanted to wear black ties, they could- it wasn't specified).

COME SING WITH OTTERBEIN SUMMER CHORALE!
Take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to sing in a quality choral setting outside of school or church during the summer. It’s also a great way to meet other singers and make friends, and to support the music education program at Otterbein! Any singer at the high school level or above is welcome. Oct. 22 / 8:00 p.m. / Collage Concert
Fritsche Theatre at Cowan Hall
Presented in collaboration with the Friends of Music at Otterbein, this concert will showcase all of the major ensembles of the Department of Music along with specialized ensembles and soloists presenting jazz, opera, and popular styles. The concert is free and open to the public. There will be an opportunity to make donations to the Craig Johnson Fund for the Future of Music at the concert, which will be followed by a dessert reception for donors and students.

June 11, 2011 - 8 p.m., Church of the Master United Methodist; The Department of Music and Friends of Music at Otterbein present “A Celebration of Music” in honor of Department of Music Chairperson Craig Johnson as he leaves the institution after 31 years to become Dean of the School of Music at North Park University in Chicago. The concert will feature Otterbein faculty, student and alumni performances.
