There will be no available parking in this area as well. Thank you for your cooperation and patience during this repair. I wanted to take a moment to recognize Steven Koch and the incredible job he did on a recent issue at my commercial building.

What started as a simple water heater replacement quickly turned into something much bigger, and the team at Round Mountain Water stepped in to help identify and repair the issue.

From the very beginning, Steven handled everything with professionalism, patience, and clear communication. He kept me informed every step of the way — explaining what was happening, what to expect, and making sure I never felt left in the dark.

Once the work began this week, I was honestly impressed with how smoothly everything was handled. The crew worked quickly, kept the area incredibly clean, and Steven checked in regularly to make sure I knew what was happening. Even when they located the leak and needed to shut the water off, he made sure I understood exactly what was going on.

Yesterday afternoon when I left my office, the area was still opened up from the work. When I arrived this morning, everything had been completely finished and put back together. You would hardly know such a major project had taken place.

Steven made what could have easily been a stressful situation feel smooth and manageable, and I truly appreciated the care he took with my property.

Please pass along my sincere thanks to him and the crew.

People who take that kind of pride in their work and communicate the way Steven does are rare — and he reflects incredibly well on your entire team. From Kimberlee Salimeno

Understanding ERUs/EQRs
An Equivalent Residential Unit (ERU/EQR) is a standard rating system RMWSD uses to ensure fair billing throughout our customer base. One ERU represents the typical water and sewer demand of a single-family home. We use ERU ratings, so customers pay their fair share based on system impact. For instance, a park with 27 living units should have to pay more for their water and sewer services than a single-family home.
Five years ago, RMWSD began implementing ERU ratings for setting customer Base Sewer Fees but chose not to use ERU ratings to set Base Water Fees. However, beginning January 1, 2026, the District will implement ERU ratings to set both Water and Sewer Base Fees due to the State required construction of a reservoir slated to cost over $3,000,000.
RMWSD is now implementing water ERUs at 50% of sewer ERUs. Your water ERU rating is approximately half of your sewer ERU rating.
What does that mean for you as the customer? If you are a single-family home or have an ERU rating of one, you will notice a small increase in your water bill due to a 5% across the board rate increase effective January 1, 2026.
If you have an ERU rating over one, you will notice an additional increase in the Water Base Fee portion of your bill.
Water/Sewer usage charges (Per 1,000 gallons) will not be affected by the ERU ratings.
Please contact the RMWSD office at 719-783-2604 if you have any questions or concerns about your bill.
