Dear Customer, This is an update from Corix Utilities, your local water provider for the Mitchell County Water System, at 1-877-718-4396. Due to the extreme drought conditions and the declining level of groundwater, we are implementing Stage 3 of our Drought Contingency Plan. This will help ensure an adequate water supply as long as conservation measures are followed. The following conservation measures are effective immediately: Watering of lawns and landscape areas is limited to no more often than once per week. Landscape irrigation must be done in an efficient manner, and water may not runoff into the street in front of or past the owner's property. Watering may only occur between the hours of 7 pm and 10 am. Please delay planting of any new landscapes. No water will be available for planting new lawns or landscaped areas. Water may be used to maintain an existing vegetable garden but should be applied in a manner to limit runoff or waste. No water is available for vehicle washing. All non-essential uses of water such as washing hard surfaced areas, controlling dust, or other non-essential maintenance uses are prohibited Providing groundwater to ponds, swimming pools, or other surface impoundments is prohibited. Watering for livestock should be done in a manner to limit water loss. To ensure an adequate water supply, it is critical that all customers reduce use by at least 20%. We appreciate your cooperation during this time. More information can be found on the Corix Texas website. This has been a message from Corix Utilities (Texas), should you have any questions, please contact our customer service department at 1-877-718-4396. Thank you,
