As we close out Teacher Appreciation Week, we’re reminded that the true power of teaching isn’t found in a single moment. Instead it is built over days, months, and years of dedication, care, and unwavering belief in our students.

This week, we had the opportunity to celebrate so many of our incredible WWPEA members whose impact reaches far beyond the classroom. Their influence shows up in confidence gained, challenges faced, and futures shaped.

In this video clip featured on Fox5 New York News, you’ll see just a glimpse of that impact. Thank you to WWPEA member, Glenn Allison (HSN/HSS)! Your commitment, compassion, and ability to truly connect with your students have left a lifelong impression.

To all of our educators: so much of the magic you create each day may not make the news, yet it leaves a lasting impact all the same. Thank you for all you bring to our schools each and every day. Your work matters. Your presence matters. YOU matter.
💙💙 Shaundrika

Teacher Appreciation Week begins tomorrow! Let’s show our dedicated teachers how much we appreciate them by transforming appreciation into ACTION. That means respect, fair wages, and a voice at the table when decisions about our schools and students’ futures are made.

Here are some ways to turn your APPRECIATION into ACTION:
💙 Support collective bargaining rights in your state. Educators earn more—24% more, on average—where they have strong unions and the freedom to bargain collectively.
💙 Vote for pro-public education candidates for your school board, state house, and U.S. Congress.
💙 Speak up for teachers at school board meetings. Ensure their voices and needs are heard by local leaders who decide funding, salaries, benefits, class sizes, and more.
