Our K9 Team put their skills on display at the K9 Trials in Las Vegas last weekend! They competed against some of the best police K9 Teams in the West.
Officer Mackintosh and Titan won 1st place in the Vehicle Narcotics Search category, 4th place in Area Search, and 5th place in Tactical Obedience.
Officer Wilhem and Ace won 3rd place in Area Search.
Congratulations to them and to all who competed! It was a tough competition this year.

STOP ON RED: Running red lights is a leading cause of intersection accidents, and unfortunately we have seen our fair share of them in West Valley City recently. One of them deadly.

Our Traffic Unit did an operation last month to spot red light violations to bring awareness to this issue.

Please stop on red and keep our community safe.

‼️SCAM ALERT: This message that went around claiming to be from the Utah DMV is a scam!‼️

Our Property Crimes Unit says this is a classic “fear tactic” scam. Scammers love to combine a sense of urgency and high stakes to make people panic before they think. Government agencies do not notify you of legal violations or license suspensions via text.

⚠ If you get this message or one like it, DO NOT CLICK the link! If you’re worried you actually have a ticket, verify it independently by going to your state’s official DMV website or calling the local clerk of courts directly.

Don't keep opioid medications around the house if you don't need them--they could get into the wrong hands and lead to an opioid overdose.
We have a box in the police department lobby to help you get rid of medications safely!
