To celebrate National Public Works Week and connect with our community, Simsbury Public Works held our annual Open House & Touch-a-Truck event on Saturday, May 16th!
Hundreds of Simsbury residents and friends joined us for a beautiful day filled with big trucks, hands-on fun, and the opportunity to see the equipment and vehicles our Public Works team uses every day to help keep Simsbury running smoothly. We are incredibly grateful for the generosity of our community! Together, attendees donated a “truckload” of food for the Simsbury Food Pantry, along with $233 in cash donations to support local families in need.

Thank you to everyone who came out to make this event such a success, and a special thank you to our Public Works staff for all they do for our town every day!

We are pleased to announce that our conversion of Station Street from a one-way to two-way street is complete. Station Street is now open to vehicular traffic, with new sidewalks on both sides of the road for pedestrian use.

The Town of Simsbury initiated this project in response to requests from our local businesses. It was largely funded by a Small Town Economic Assistance Program (STEAP) grant from the State of Connecticut.

Thank you for your patience during construction.

From Monday, April 27, 2026, through Thursday, April 30, 2026, traffic on Iron Horse Boulevard and the multi-use trail will be impacted due to construction in the area of the Simsbury Meadows Performing Arts Center. The work is related to the Band Shell project and is isolated to the area north of the driveway. Closure of the road and trail is expected during this time.

The Paw Meadow Dog Park and Rotary Park Boundless Playground will both remain open throughout construction. Drivers will be able to access the driveway on Iron Horse Boulevard by approaching from Drake Hill Road.

We recommend that pedestrians walking the multi-use trail bypass the area by utilizing the sidewalks on Hopmeadow Street to connect the adjacent sections of the path; bicycles may not be ridden on the sidewalks. Thank you.

On March 30, 2026, the Town of Simsbury broke ground for the conversion of Station Street from one-way to two-way traffic. Work for this project will include: expansion of the roadway, new parallel parking spaces, improvements to drainage, modifications to the traffic signal for two-way traffic, and replacement of the concrete sidewalks.

The roadway will remain closed for the duration of construction, which is anticipated to be completed in early May. Eno Memorial Hall and private businesses within the area will remain open throughout construction, with the contractor making accommodations for access. If you have any questions for the adjacent properties or businesses regarding access specifics, we recommend contacting their management.
