IMPORTANT INFORMATION
It's time for our community to get mad.
Governor Brown’s budget revision proposal is out, and there’s not one dime in it to stop the collapse of the community service and support system for people with developmental disabilities.
Even worse, in the Democratic legislative leaders’ budget priority lists and initial responses to the governor, we haven’t seen one word about saving the DD community services. The Democrats are control both houses of the Legislature.
This is despite the fact that a majority of the members of the state Senate and Assembly signed Senator Jim Beall’s letter asking for the 10% emergency funding increase we need to stop our service system from continuing to crumble.
We need calls, in-person visits to their offices, and bodies to pack the legislative hearings on next Monday and Tuesday, May 18 and 19
Before or after the hearings those days, go to your legislators’ offices and talk to whoever will talk to you.
We urge you to come to Sacramento for the hearings and rallies Monday and Tuesday. And before or after the hearings those days, go to your legislators’ offices and talk to whoever will talk to you.
Our community has saved the Lanterman Act with massive mobilizations before. We need to do it again now.
Now more than ever, thank you for your advocacy.
