As bills move through the Capitol, AGC of California is there, testifying as the voice of the construction industry and defending our members from costly mandates.
SB 1185: AGC took lead testimony in opposition. The bill would extend skilled and trained workforce mandates to construction at pharmaceutical research and manufacturing facilities, limiting which contractors can compete and exposing them to penalties of up to $5,000 per month per violation.
AB 1838: AGC testified in opposition to his bill which would require contractors bidding on local public works projects to disclose five years of wage-and-hour history, layering new barriers onto a bidding process already governed by robust state enforcement.
AB 1235: AGC testified in opposition of this potentially costly and disruptive bill that would expose prime contractors on CSU design-build projects to liability for every subcontractor at every tier.
For over 100 years, AGC of California has made sure the industry's voice is heard at the Capitol. When legislation threatens how our members build, we are in the room doing what we can to ensure their interests are at the table.
