This California Invasive Species Action Week (CISAW), don't let yourself be fooled by nutria and other wildlife invasive to the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta!

The Delta is one of the world’s most invaded estuaries, with at least 185 non-native species already here and more likely to arrive in the future. To protect and restore the Delta's ecosystems, the Conservancy has funded over $11.4 million in projects aimed at removing a variety of invasive species – from nutria to non-native plants like water primrose (Ludwigia spp.), common reed (Phragmites australis subsp. australis), and giant reed (Arundo donax).

There are many ways to get involved in to protect California's natural resources. Visit https://wildlife.ca.gov/Conservation/Invasives/Action-Week to learn more!

Who's ready to get out on the water?! 😎

If you're enjoying our wonderful Northern California waterways from a boat this weekend, we have a few reminders for you. 💙

🌊 Using sewage management facilities (pumpout stations, dump stations, and floating restrooms) is a great way to help keep our waterways clean.
🚽 One toilet flush of untreated sewage from your boat can cause the same environmental impact as 10,000 flushes from your home toilet!!
🛥️ You can get free deck adapters and Y-valve kits via our website. These tools help ensure sewage is pumped out safely and properly, preventing accidental discharges.
📲 Download the free Pumpout Nav app to find nearby dump stations, floating restrooms, and pumpouts at participating marinas and harbors across California and other coastal locations in the U.S.

The Delta Conservancy is committed to preserving the Delta’s rich cultural heritage, including the important contributions of Asian Americans to our region and state. This month, in honor of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, we’re spotlighting Isleton's Asian American Heritage Park.

Worried that key parts of Isleton’s history were being forgotten, Jean Yokotobi was inspired to create the park as a tribute to the Japanese and Chinese immigrants who shaped the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta.

“I think it’s very important to remember history,” Yokotobi said. “And what brought us here and what could bring us forward for a better life.”

This park was made possible with community dedication and funding from the Delta Conservancy through Proposition 68.
