🚨 Community Notice 🚨
Please see the shared post from Benton County Fire Protection District No 2 regarding an active wildland fire near I-82 and Old Inland Empire Highway.

If you are traveling in the area or live nearby, stay informed, avoid the incident area, and follow directions from emergency personnel.

🚨 ACTIVE WILDLAND FIRE RESPONSE 🚨
Emergency crews are actively working a significant wildland fire incident in the area of Interstate I-82 and Old Inland Empire Highway, between Prosser and Benton City.

Spending time at Tapteal Elementary today with 5th graders. And our new ladder truck.

06/08/2026

We had a great time with the 5th graders at Tapteal Elementary school today. They asked us to come out to the Field day and spray down the students that wanted to get wet. It gave our crews a reason to set up and use our new ladder truck. It is the latest engine to join our district. It will be in service soon. Richland School District
