Howell County 911 Howell County 911 has been serving the citizens of Howell County since August 31st, 1992.

We dispatch all Fire Departments in Howell County as well as South Howell County Ambulance and Willow Springs Ambulance. We also dispatch the Mountain View and Willow Springs Police Departments during non-business hours, including weekends.

DATE, September 3, 2026
The Howell County Commission has implemented a Burn Ban Order #2025-17 For Howell County Missouri in effect until action is taken by the Howell County Commission to terminate.
A Burn Ban is ordered due to fire danger is extreme due to dry air Extreme Drought conditions continuing in Howell County, and it has been determined by the Missouri State Fire Marshall that a ban is appropriate for Howell County.
Dry conditions contribute to the extreme dangers of burning and as the conditions are expected to prevail over the next several of days according to the National Weather Service, therefor actions have been taken to help protect people and property in Howell County.
The Following acts will be prohibited within the boundaries of Howell County by all citizens and visitors:
1.. Careless use of materials, including ci******es, ci**rs and smoking pipes, Discard shall be in a manner to prevent threat from smoldering remains initiating a fire.
2. Building, maintaining, attending or using an open fire or campfire except in a permanent stove or fireplace or barbeque grills.
3. Prescribed burning of all fence rows, field, wild land, ravines, trash and debris. Prescribed burning may be exempted from the order where such burning is necessary and has been specifically approved in writhing by the Howell County Director of Emergency Management or other appropriate office of this County.
Knowing and willful violation of the Ordinance shall constitute a misdemeanor and any person convicted of such violation shall be punished as provided law.

It's going to be hot and sunny for an extended period of time this week. Make sure to take heat related precautions! Drink plenty of water, apply sunscreen every two hours, wear lightweight, loose-fitting, and light-colored clothing, and take regular breaks in the shade or A/C.

Street Improvement Work Begins This Week

Street improvement work is scheduled to begin this week and will continue over the coming weeks.

Donelson Construction will be performing pressure paving operations on the streets listed below as part of the city's ongoing street maintenance program.

During construction, motorists should expect:
β€’ Temporary lane closures and traffic delays
β€’ Intermittent street closures
β€’ Limited access to some driveways while crews are actively working
β€’ Traffic control devices and signage directing motorists safely through work areas

At this time, a detailed daily schedule is not available. Crews will work on the streets listed at various times throughout the project. We encourage residents to plan for possible delays and use alternate routes whenever possible.
