We were honored to visit the Neurodivergent and Autism Center and ASCEND Program at MSU-West Plains! 💙

Library Director Dianna Locke had the opportunity to tour this beautiful, innovative facility and learn more about the incredible resources and support available to students. This one-of-a-kind center is truly something special—and a remarkable resource for our community!

During the visit, Dianna also shared information about the West Plains Public Library, including our library programs, services, and the many resources we provide for individuals and families throughout the community. 📚

We’re excited about the possibilities for collaboration and building connections that help ensure everyone has access to a welcoming, supportive, and inclusive community.

September is National Library Card Sign-Up Month, and we’re celebrating!

This week, tell us in the comments what you love most about having a library card at West Plains Public Library, and you’ll be entered into a drawing for this lovely gift basket.

The basket includes a book, library coffee mugs, an assortment of coffee, tea, candle, and treats, and a beautiful handmade lap quilt generously donated by library patron Barbara Freeman.

Coffee, books, and a little bit of Stars Hollow magic!

Your friends at West Plains Public Library are hosting a Gilmore Girls-themed Book Bingo on Tuesday, September 22, from 5:30–6:30 p.m.

And what better day to celebrate than the first day of fall? September 22 marks the beginning of autumn, which feels very Stars Hollow to us.

Here’s another fun Gilmore Girls fact: If you start watching the series on September 22 and watch about four episodes a week, the seasons of the show will line up with the seasons of the year. So, naturally, we think September 22 is the perfect day to begin!

Join us for an evening of books, bingo, coffee, and fall-themed refreshments. The event is completely FREE, and everyone is welcome. You do not need to have a West Plains Public Library card or membership to attend.

Seating is limited to 85 guests due to room capacity and the space needed for tables, coffee, and refreshments. Seats may not be reserved or saved for others.

We will not require registration for this event. We’ve found that a registration system isn’t the best fit for our programs, so just show up and join the fun!

Bring your love of books, your appreciation for a good cup of coffee, and your best Stars Hollow state of mind. Whether you’re more Rory or Lorelai, there’s a seat at the library for you — as long as you get here before we reach 85!

So, coffee first. Bingo next. Gilmore Girls always.
