The Lanton Fire Department is hosting a yard sale on Saturday, July 12th, at Station #2, featuring a diverse array of items for sale, with photos to be posted next week. Proceeds from the yard sale will support our monthly upkeep and maintenance expenses. Additionally, baked goods will be available for purchase. If you would like to contribute items to the department for the yard sale or bake sale, please contact us directly.

County Road 8390 is impassable!! A truck was swept off the road last night, the driver was safely rescued! Please, under no circumstances attempt to cross the bridge, about 3/4s of a mile from south 17 highway!!! With the rain we've received and the forecast, it's only going to get worse!! Remember, TURN AROUND, DON'T DROWN!!!

A huge thank you to WPFD and HCRFD for their work and efforts on the rescue!!

The Board of Directors of the Lanton Volunteer Fire Department has voted unanimously to amend the departmental bylaws to increase the annual membership dues from $50 to $75, effective September 1, 2025. The proposed amendment is now posted for viewing at both Station 1 and Station 2. Comments can be mailed to the department at the address provided below, or can be made by email at [email protected] or by calling 417-293-9759. A vote by paid members will be held at the annual meeting scheduled for September 14, 2024 at 4 PM at Station 2. The Board feels strongly that this increase is necessary to maintain the viability of the Department.
