🎓 One of the greatest honors of this graduation season was attending the Palm Beach County Adult & Community Education of Palm Beach County Graduation Ceremony, where I had the privilege of serving as the commencement speaker at the invitation of Mrs. Awilda Tomas-Andres.

I also want to thank Mrs. Tomas-Andres for the incredibly kind words shared before my remarks. They touched my heart, and I am deeply grateful.

This ceremony holds a special place in my heart because it is deeply personal. When my family came to this country from Argentina, I watched my parents work long days and attend Adult Education classes at night as they built a new life and created new opportunities for our family.

Looking out at the graduates, I saw people from all ages and walks of life. People balancing work, family, responsibilities, and challenges, yet still choosing to show up, stay committed, and finish what they started.

During my remarks, I spoke about determination, resilience, and the importance of having a vision, a plan, and taking action. I also shared that what we accomplish inspires the people around us, whether we realize it or not.

Education creates opportunity. It opens doors, creates new possibilities, and changes lives. Learning does not stop with a diploma, a certificate, or a graduation ceremony. It is a lifelong journey.

Congratulations to every graduate. Your achievement represents perseverance, sacrifice, and the decision to keep moving forward. I cannot wait to see what comes next for each of you.

Congratulations. Felicidades. Felisitasyon!

🎓 IT'S OFFICIAL... SCHOOL IS OUT! 🎉

May was a whirlwind of celebrations, milestones, and unforgettable moments as we wrapped up another school year across Palm Beach County.

This year, I had the privilege of attending nine high school graduations, including my District 2 schools: Indian Ridge, John I. Leonard High School , and Forest Hill Community High School Schools.

I was also able to celebrate with students and families at Dr. Joaquín García High School, Alexander W. Dreyfoos School of the Arts, Suncoast High School, South Tech Academy, my alma mater Lake Worth High School, and Royal Palm School.

Each ceremony was special in its own way. Beautiful music from talented bands, powerful performances, inspiring speeches, and National Anthems sung by remarkable student voices. Every stage reflected months and years of hard work, perseverance, and growth.

I also had the opportunity to attend the Take Stock in Children Palm Beach County ceremony, which is always a powerful reminder of what mentorship, determination, and opportunity can accomplish.

One of the highlights of the month was being invited by Mrs. Awilda Tomas-Andres to serve as the commencement speaker for Adult & Community Education of Palm Beach County.

That ceremony holds a special place in my heart because it is deeply personal. When my family came to this country from Argentina, I watched my parents work long days and attend Adult Education classes at night as they built a new life and new opportunities for our family.

We celebrated graduates from all ages and walks of life who balanced work, family, responsibilities, and challenges, yet still chose to show up, stay committed, and finish what they started.

During my remarks, I spoke about determination, resilience, and the importance of having a vision, a plan, and taking action. Most importantly, I reminded graduates that what they accomplish inspires the people around them, whether they realize it or not.

I also attended five elementary school moving-up ceremonies at Greenacres, Berkshire, Cholee Lake, Grassy Waters, and C.O. Taylor/Kirklane. Watching these young students take their next step was a wonderful reminder that every educational journey begins one milestone at a time.

One of the things I love most about graduations is seeing the families celebrating alongside their students. Senator Mack Bernard and General Counsel Shawn Bernard watched their beautiful daughter cross the stage. So did School Board Member Erica Whitfield, Judge Harper, and Chief of Staff Dr. Jolande Morgan.

And to my friends who were also cheering on someone special at graduation, congratulations on sharing in these unforgettable milestones.

These moments remind us that behind every graduate is a network of people who encouraged, supported, and believed in them.

A heartfelt thank you to all of our principals, assistant principals, teachers, support staff, district administrators, and of course Eric Stern and his entire team for successfully leading this marathon of graduations and ceremonies.

I also want to thank School Police Chief Sarah Mooney and her entire team for helping keep our students, families, staff, and guests safe throughout graduation season and all year long. Your dedication allows these celebrations to happen safely, and we are grateful for your service.

I also want to give a special thank you to the District’s School Food Service Department, Director Allyson Monbleau, and her team for their incredible support throughout graduation season.

With three graduations a day, they kept the hospitality rooms stocked and ready for everyone working behind the scenes. For those of us attending ceremonies back-to-back, their hard work and dedication helped make those long days a lot easier, and it did not go unnoticed.

This is why we do what we do.

Education creates opportunity. It opens doors, changes lives, strengthens families, and builds stronger communities. There is nothing more rewarding than watching students reach a milestone and take the next step toward their future.

Congratulations to the Class of 2026 and to every student moving up to their next chapter.

¡FELICIDADES A TODOS LOS QUE HICIERON DE ESTE UN GRAN ANO!

Enjoy your well-deserved summer! ☀️🎓

Visited West Gate Elementary and had a great conversation with Principal Claudia Mejias. We talked about the real work happening on campus, supporting students, staying connected with families, and making sure every child is set up for success.

They are doing a great job at this school, and you can feel the care and intention the moment you walk in, from the classrooms to the front office.

It was also great to see Mai Bui from the Westgate CRA stop by. The strong connection between the school and the neighborhood really stands out. When schools and community partners stay close, our students and families feel that support.

This is how we move forward, working together, staying connected, and making sure every child has what they need to succeed.

What a great night celebrating excellence in education 🎓✨

The Scholastic Achievement Foundation of Palm Beach County continues a powerful tradition of recognizing graduating seniors who have worked hard and stayed focused on their future. This is what education as opportunity looks like.

Congratulations to all the honorees, especially students from my District 2 schools, John I. Leonard High School and Forest Hill Community High School. Your hard work is paying off!

Thank you to all of our partners who makes this possible. When we support our students together, we strengthen our community.

So exciting to be at the groundbreaking for the future Beach Volleyball Complex at Palm Beach State College 🏐☀️

Thank you to Baptist Health for investing in our students and this project.

What starts today will soon become a professional-level facility able to host championships and bring real opportunities to our community.

This is what it looks like when education connects to opportunity and strong partnerships come together for our students and families. 💚💛

Can’t wait to see this come to life.

Shoutout to Bak Middle School of the Arts Foundation … wow.

Their production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child was on another level. Honestly, there were moments I forgot I was watching middle school students, even the British accents were that good. No wonder this school is known nationwide.

An incredible team:
Right to left Laura Graham (Theatre Faculty), Aubrey Seeger (Department Lead/Faculty), Eric Friedrickson (Director and Theatre Faculty), me 😊, and Susy Díaz, the heart of Bak’s foundation.

Thank you for the invitation Susy…

So proud of these students and everyone behind the scenes making magic happen ✨

Proud to be part of Latin Quarter WPB and the work we continue to do for our students 💙

We recently delivered laptops to Conniston Middle and Forest Hill High, made possible through the support of Florida Power & Light

Access to technology is essential. When students have the tools they need, they’re better prepared to learn, grow, and build their future.

This is the work that matters to me. Supporting students, being there for families, and creating real opportunities.

And none of this happens alone. Strong partnerships are what make it possible.

Thank my fellow Latin Quarter board members, our school partners, and everyone who helped make this happen. Your commitment, time, and heart are what turn ideas into real impact for our students and families.
