The Solid Waste Authority of Palm Beach County is a Dependent Special District created by the Palm Beach County Solid Waste Act, Chapter 2001-331, as amended. We provide an economical and environmentally conscious integrated solid waste management system, and have done so since our creation in 1975. Our award-winning, world-renown integrated system of facilities includes seven Home Chemical & Recy
cling Centers, six transfer stations, two landfills (Class I and Class III), two renewable energy facilities, one recovered materials processing facility, one biosolids processing facility, and more than 300 acres of a greenway and trail system that includes a bird rookery. With approximately 400 employees, the SWA provides solid waste disposal and recycling services and programs to Palm Beach County's 1.5 million residents and businesses. We create energy, commodities and fertilizer pellets from the waste we receive from throughout the county. While we process all waste generated in the county, we only provide collection service (through contracted haulers) in unincorporated Palm Beach County. As a Dependent Special District, the SWA is governed by the seven elected County Commissioners of Palm Beach County, Florida. It is the policy of the Solid Waste Authority of Palm Beach County not to resolve customer complaints or respond to inquiries on social media. We take customer service seriously and aim to provide stellar service. If you have a collection-related issue in unincorporated Palm Beach County, please contact our Customer Service team at 561-697-2700 or [email protected] to have your issue resolved in a timely manner.
